Using a vintage lottery machine as its medium, the work mixes white ping-pong balls labeled with real “isms” from intellectual history with black ones bearing fictional concepts generated by artificial intelligence. The machine rotates automatically every 30 seconds, causing real and invented terms to collide, mix, and recombine. While retaining the machine’s original mechanism of chance, the work replaces numbers with ideas and concepts, transforming a device for producing random outcomes into a system concerned with the classification of knowledge, authenticity, and the generation of ideas.
